What is the difference between Starter and Pro?
Both plans include the complete call-handling service: trades-focused intake, your shop's rules, booking or callback paths when those rules allow them, integrations, consented text receipts, and a complete owner summary. Starter uses BookedOnCall's polished standard caller experience. Pro adds 300 more included minutes plus a chosen voice, custom assistant name, greeting, call opening, call style, and appointment-review wording.
Which plan should I start with?
Choose Starter when 200 included minutes and BookedOnCall's standard caller experience fit your shop. Choose Pro when you expect more call volume or want the assistant's voice, name, greeting, opening, and appointment-review wording tailored to your business. Neither plan cuts back the core intake, safety checks, shop rules, integrations, or call summaries.
Does BookedOnCall always book appointments automatically?
No. BookedOnCall confirms an appointment only when the service is bookable, the address is covered, direct booking is enabled, the schedule returns a current opening, and the call fits your rules. Otherwise it creates an owner-review request or callback with the details already captured.
Which tools can BookedOnCall work with?
During setup, BookedOnCall can connect Jobber, Google Calendar, email summaries, and consented callback-request receipts by text for office review, not an appointment confirmation. QuickBooks, Housecall Pro, and ServiceTitan are planned integrations and are clearly labeled because they are not currently live self-serve connections.
What happens if a job is outside the service area or needs your approval?
BookedOnCall can still collect the customer details and send the call back to you for review instead of forcing a booking.
What happens after I choose a plan?
Start setup online, choose a plan, enter the services and rules for your shop, and review the call flow before forwarding callers. The setup checklist then walks through account access, checkout, app setup, and connection steps.
How are extra minutes billed?
Plans include a monthly minute allowance. Extra minutes are billed at the published per-minute rate for your plan. If you keep running well past the included minutes, we'll usually recommend the next tier instead of leaving you on the wrong plan.
How long does setup take?
The basic path is designed for about 15 focused minutes when your services, service area, hours, call-forwarding choice, calendar, alerts, and plan are ready. You can hear a review call immediately, then refine advanced rules before forwarding customer calls.
Can BookedOnCall handle emergency or urgent calls?
BookedOnCall can flag calls that sound urgent based on what the caller describes, like a burst pipe or no heat in winter. It can mark those calls for fast follow-up, but it doesn't replace your own emergency protocols.
Do I need to change my phone number?
No. You keep the business number customers already know. Forward missed, overflow, after-hours, or all calls to the BookedOnCall number assigned to your business, then change the forwarding rule whenever you want.
What if the caller asks to continue in another supported language?
BookedOnCall starts in English by default so it doesn't switch languages by accident. If a caller clearly asks to continue in another supported language, the assistant can switch and keep the call moving. English is still the primary default today.
Can I try BookedOnCall before committing?
Yes. Choose from eight fictional sample shops, try a browser voice call, or read a complete call and owner summary for each supported trade. Public demos use fictional details and cannot change a real calendar, send a customer text, or create a real appointment.
Is there a long-term contract?
Standard public plans are monthly. You review plan, usage, renewal, cancellation, and electronic-agreement terms during setup before you start.
Is BookedOnCall a virtual receptionist or an answering service?
BookedOnCall is an AI receptionist focused on incoming trades calls. Virtual receptionist can describe either a human answering service or an AI service. BookedOnCall uses your reviewed business rules to ask trade-specific questions, complete allowed scheduling or booking steps, and send a structured handoff. A human service is a better fit when you need broad office judgment or work outside a defined call flow.
What information does the assistant collect on each call?
The assistant collects the caller's name, callback number, service address, and a description of the work needed. Depending on your setup, it can also ask about urgency, property type, and preferred scheduling windows.
